Farmhouse Bommerig, South Limburg (The Netherlands)

This lovely half-timbered house in Bommerig, suitable for six to eight persons, is located in a perfectly quiet spot: a hill in nature reserve Geul Dale (Dutch: ‘het Geuldal’) . The path leading to this accommodation is exclusively being used by hikers and local traffic.

The Geul Dale in South Limburg is a beautiful stream valley with tiny creeks and the river Geul flowing through. This area is owned by the Dutch Society for Nature Preservation (Vereniging Natuurmonumenten). The meandering river streams through the meadows and woods: an excellent place for hikers and nature lovers. The cute villages, filled with the half-timbered houses which have put their mark on this area, offer you the hospitality of Limburg: a cup of coffee with ‘vlaai’ (a Limburg fruit pie), a glass of beer on a terrace, a fine meal while the fireplace is lit.

Description

You enter the house via the blue door on the most right, and arrive inside the new kitchen with dishwasher, five burner stove, oven, washing machine and fridge with freezer. A round table with chairs and a radio/tape recorder are present. Apart from a tall kitchen cabinet and the room next to the kitchen, which are for private use, everything inside can be used to your liking.

In the hall, which gives access to the garden room/living room, you will find a shower, washing sink and separate toilet. The garden room is exquisitely bright. A dining table for eight persons is available. A seating area with a couch, chairs and television are present as well. Through he sliding glass doors you arrive at the terrace, placed on the south. On this spot it will be sunny throughout the day. The immense panorama is beautiful! You overlook the hilly Geul Dale: grazing cows on pastures, surrounded by willows and hedges.
On the terrace the stairs lead down to the garden, where another big terrace, including a garden house, is located. The large garden table and many garden chairs can be installed in the grass where ever one prefers.

Upstairs

In the hallway a staircase leads to the upper floor. First you arrive on a half-level floor with a wonderful chaise and desk, overlooking the valley: a perfect place to retreat and write, read or study. 

The stairs take you to the bedrooms and the second bathroom with shower and toilet. Two bedrooms with each three single beds are present. A sink can be found as well in each bedroom.
A children’s bed and chair are available.

On the second floor two single beds are put underneath the sloped roof with skylight.

This residence accommodates six to eight guests.
There is bed linen and towel service.

This is a non smoking house.

Pets are not allowed here.

Arrival is usual from 4 pm, departure at 10 in the morning.

Period

During holiday season and dutch and belgian Schoolholidays, the house is only for rent weekly, from Friday - Friday.
