Group accomodation Reijmerstok, South Limburg (The Netherlands)

These accommodations are situated in the center of the village Reijmerstok, near the town of Gulpen in the green hills, and offer a stay for 25 persons. When a reservation is made greatly in advance it is possible to rent both locations in order to accommodate groups of maximum 50 guests. The beautifully restored half-timbered house and/or barn with modern comfort inside will certainly be enjoyed!

Reijmerstok used to be a dry valley where the rain water got drained from the plateau to the Gulp Valley. Around the existence of several pools of drinking water and water springs this church village arose. The half-timbered barn used to be located in an inconvenient bend in Reijmerstok. The beams were numbered and the framework got dismantled. Then it got rebuilt here at the Reijmerstok square, where it serves as a half open courtyard together with another old half-timbered house.

Preserved historic monument

The House dates from the first half of the 19th century and is a preserved historic monument. The barn section has become part of the residence and the kitchen en dining room are installed here. The dining area is arranged with a large dinner table with 25 seats, while folding doors open to the terrace and garden. The kitchen is built 80 cm higher than the old house with its fireplace and wood stove in the sitting areas. The different levels provide for a playful residence with surprising elements.

The Barn is built in a similar style as the house next door, which together form a half open courtyard.

Residence moved

This half-timbered barn used to be located in an inconvenient bend in Reijmerstok. The building got completely transplanted onto its new location, the Reijmerstok square, where it forms a half open courtyard together with the old barn. The large courtyard – which is partly covered – can be experienced from the whole building, and especially from the open archway on the first floor and the large void in the barn.

The building as a whole has been arranged with the use of natural materials, and in a remarkable sense, into a beautiful residence, where a highly comfortable time can be spend!
